As a child, Eva’s parents fostered many children for the Children’s Aid Societies. Therefore, she was accustomed to social workers coming to her home, bringing babies or taking them to their new adoptive homes. She thought that was the best job in the world! So, she decided that she wanted to be a social worker.

Eva had a lengthy early career working with the Children’s Aid Societies in York Region and worked in every department, except Adoption! However, she has always wanted to help others. Throughout school, she was the person that others would come to with their problems.

After that, Eva became the Team Leader for the Child and Adolescent Crisis Program at Southlake Regional Health Centre. She gained extensive experience working directly with children, adolescents, and families. She not only provided support and guidance to these individuals but also had the opportunity to showcase her expertise by presenting the benchmark program across Ontario. Eva’s efforts have had a lasting impact, inspiring other hospitals to adopt similar programs.

Additionally, Eva worked for five years at the Trillium Lakelands School Board as a Student Support and Attendance counsellor. In this role, she played a crucial part in ensuring students’ well-being and educational success. Her experiences have equipped her with a diverse skill set and a deep understanding of children and youth’s needs.

Friendly Sadie will be there to greet you warmly.

Eva’s life circumstances gave her the experience and empathy to be there for others. It has enabled her to create a career that she has always dreamed of having.

She believes everyone has a right to respectful and productive counselling services. She also believes strongly in a strength-based holistic approach and helping you to work with, and build upon, the innate skills you already have.

Eva is a registered social worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers and has been a therapist for over 30 years.
